The Computer Will Find the Right Man for You!
French pop singer France Gall was a few years ahead of her time when she sang about a computer that can help her find the right man – in 1968! The song is in German, but you would probably be most familiar with Gall’s 80s hit Ella, elle l’a.
Thanks to online matchmaking, today your computer really can help you find the right man
but the lyrics must have been like a glimpse of the future at the time: Read more
Attractive Single Seeks… Funny Personals
Remember the days when singles had to seek love through the paper? Way back when printed personals were the state of the art matchmaking technology? The problem is, you would have to describe yourself in the most appealing way possible in very few words, and try to squeeze in a hint at the type of person you seek, too. Naturally, most personals are pretty generic and not terribly interesting. Here’s a few great examples of personals that are, well, a little different…
“There is a little place in the jumbled sock drawer of my heart where you match up all the pairs, throw out the ones with holes in them, and buy me some of those neat dressy ones with the weird black and red geometrical designs on them. “
” All humans are 99.9% genetically identical, so don’t even think of ending any potential relationship begun here with ‘I just don’t think we have enough in common’. Science has long since proven that I am the man for you” Read more
Meet the be2 Team: Michaela
Michaela is new at be2 – she started as Junior Online Marketing Manager in June. be2 is a great career-starter for her after graduation, because “new ideas are nurtured, the work atmosphere is great and you are able to take responsibility from day one, so you can get started immediately.” …and that’s exactly what she’s done: Michaela has already contributed to so many be2 projects, we can hardly believe she’s been here for just over two months – and that she still has time to fill in our blog questionnaire
.
1. How do you contribute to be2 members finding the love of their life?
It’s my job to understand the needs of our members and to ensure we communicate optimally with them. I want be2 to be perceived as it should be: dynamic, open to suggestions, international, and always intent on improving our service for be2 members. Read more
Meet the be2 Team: Martina
Most of you know how online matchmaking works with be. But you don’t know who makes be2’s online matchmaking happen. In future you will find out here who contributes to the programming, design, customer service, and all the other aspects of the be2 service. Due to popular demand, we will regularly introduce members of the be2 team, who ensure that the online matchmaking experience goes smoothly and that be2 members find the love of their life. But first of all let me introduce the person who will be introducing the be2 team.
My job as Human Resources Manager is to find employees who are a perfect match for be2. I will be asking them to fill in the following questionnaire for the blog, but today, I’ll answer my own questions:
1. How do you help be2 members find the love of their life?
I find the best employees, who will continually improve the quality of our product.
2. What do your friends ask about your job at an online matchmaking agency?
Whether I could pick out the best profiles and introduce them before they „go live“
3. Which aspect of online matchmaking is particularly important to you?
Honesty and respectability. Everyone on the site should have the same goal: to find a partner for life..
4. Which be2 country do you feel particularly connected to?
New Zealand; I spent the most exciting year of my life (so far) there.
5. “Love is…”
…being friends as well as lovers.
PS: If you would like to join the be2 team, take a look at the be2 job page.
The Value of Love (£163,424)
Do you think online matchmaking services are too expensive? Maybe you’ll think again when you hear the results of an interesting British study about the value of love. The book “You Are Really Rich, You Just Don’t Know It Yet” places monetary
value on things that are more important than money – like friendships, health and love.
Especially during the current financial crisis, many people are re-evaluating the value of material things and trying to focus on values that are more rewarding than money. The value assigned to love and other immaterial goods is based on research about what makes people happy. In a new value system, things like love would be appreciated for what they are: priceless ways of enriching your life, without being rich.
According to the book, the value of love is £163,424, while a stable relationship is worth £154,849. Ideally, online matchmaking can help you find both! Then, if you really want to boost your happiness value, you could have children, at a value of £129,448. Surely online matchmaking isn’t too expensive when the return on your investment – the value of love – is so high…
