It’s a truism among single women that all the best men are taken (or gay, but that’s a different matter). However, a new study on the factors that determine attraction indicates that it’s not so much the best men that are taken, but rather that the fact that men are taken makes single women thing they must be the best.

184 heterosexual students, half of whom were single, participated in a study on sexual attraction and told the volunteers that a computer program would match them with an ideal partner. Marylin Manson has managed to bed some very beautiful women: porcelain beauty Rose McGowan, burlesque superstar Dita von Teese and teenage actress Evan Rachel Wood are among the beautiful women wooed by… well, what exactly? A scientific study claims to prove that the Axe effect really exists. In case you are not aware, the Axe effect is supposed to turn imbecile women into raging man-eaters. In the ads, these women chase an unattractive male whom they normally wouldn’t even touch with a pole, because he’s wearing Axe. Not the type of thing you see happening every day…
