Gaurav-be2Gaurav with his open, web-enthusiastic attitude is a perfect addition to the be2 team. Indian heritage, raised in Berlin, studied in Oxford and Stanford, worked in California and Canada – it would probably be easier to list the places Gaurav hasn’t been…

You can tell by his questionnaire that he fits right in and enjoys working for be2 ;-)

1. How do you help people find love?
Oh, I have my methods… but seriously: I am currently working in International Business Development – meaning I analyse single life, internet use, competition, language and other relevant factors and develop strategies accordingly to launch be2 internationally. One day, be2 members will be able to find love with international matchmaking anywhere in the world, regardless of place and time. Read more

The Chinese Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, was celebrated at the be2 office last week. Our colleague Yun-Han invited us to join her for some traditional dessert: “moon cake” and “tanjuan” (rice balls with sesame or peanut filling in sweet soup). Doesn’t the moon cake look yummy?

The moon festival is one of the most important festivals in the Chinese lunar calendar. Chinese families get together to celebrate the Moon Festival, watch the full moon and eat moon cake. Couples in love also gaze at the foll moon together.

Much like Chinese Valentine’s Day, there’s a great story to go with it. There are many different versions of the story surrounding the moon goddess and how she ended up living on the moon, but they all end with the belief that you can see the moon goddess during the moon festival.

“In search of love? Find it here!” is one of the many stereotypical taglines of the evolving Indian matchmaking e-industry. Given that NRIs generally represent an affluent, well educated and elite class with big spending potential, NRI Dating seems to be one of the potential targets of some of these leading online Indian Dating and matchmaking e-businesses.

They say marriages are made in heaven. Thanks to the Information Millennium, with a tremendous change in the patterns of lifestyles and social outlook of individuals globally, phrases like this need to be redefined: marriages are made online! Read more

be2 is continuing to grow in the Asian dating market. be2 Singapore was launched in 2008 and has grown to 42,000 Singaporean singles and there’s no end in sight – approximately 200 new Singaporean singles register for online dating at be2 every day.

asian-dating-womanDue to the continued success of be2 Singapore, be2 launched its service in Hong Kong and, most recently, in Taiwan. More and more singles in modern Taiwan are opting to delay marriage to concentrate on jobs. Over 5 million Taiwanese singles are potentially looking for love. However, the negative image of other Asian dating sites has discouraged many singles from online dating. With its science-based matchmaking service for singles looking for a fulfilling and enduring partnership, be2 is changing online dating in Asia.

The be2 personality test gives Asian dating a new perspective and takes the social significance of marriage in Asia into account. As a special treat for Asian singles in Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong, be2 has even launched an Asian dating blog! I can’t read a word of it, but I think it looks amazing ;-)
