Happily in love, just fallen in love, been in love for years, hoping to fall in love, secretly in love, about to fall in love, working hard to help others fall in love. If you are one or more of the above, Valentine’s Day will be an all-important fixture in your romantic calendar.

If you’re a guy, you will frantically be trying to find an appropriate Valentine’s Day gift for the girl you’re in love with (and, let’s face it, probably fail). If you’re a girl, you’ll probably hope for the most romantic day of the year with the guy you’re in love with (and, let’s face it, probably be let down by your high expectations). We jest. If you’re in love, it will be romantic and wonderful and don’t let anyone take that away from you!

Year after year, romantic couples have their Valentine’s Day parade rained on by Scrooges harping on about Valentine’s Day being a marketing ploy devised by capitalists in order to sell more candy, flowers, romantic greeting cards and pink teddy bears (or champagne and diamonds for some lucky ladies ;-) ).

We agree that Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be all about the presents, but it is nice to have a romantic occasion that’s all about celebrating being in love. If you dislike the money-making aspect of Valentine’s Day (or if you’re, you know, tight), make it a romantic day without spending money: make your own gift, cook a romantic meal for two, write a song, prepare a surprise…

There are a million ways of making your Valentine’s Day a romantic day to remember without spending a fortune and if you’re in love, you can probably think of a million reason’s why it’s worth it!

If you’re still single, you can find your Valentine at be2.
