The Christmas Crackers have been on the shelves for a while now, Christmas cards are starting to arrive and once the office Single Christmas presentChristmas party has come and gone, there’s no denying that Christmas is upon us. Great, say the Christmas enthusiasts, my favourite time of year! Bah, Humbug, say the others, Christmas shopping is nothing but stress! However, regardless of Christmas stress or Christmas joys, most people want to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones. But how do you celebrate Christmas as single?

For many, the idea of Christmas as single sounds pitiful, because traditionally Christmas is a time when nobody should be alone. Well, we think Christmas as single is nothing to cry about. Instead, we’ve put together ten reasons why
Christmas as single could be cause for celebration:

1. No fighting about whose family you’re spending Christmas with.
2. You don’t have to spend Christmas with your partner’s family – your own family is crazy enough.
3. You don’t have to drag your partner along to your family’s Christmas – your family is embarrassing enough as is.
4. No partner expecting a present = more money to spend on pampering yourself.
5. You can spend every Christmas party flirting with colleagues, acquaintances and friends of the family – you are single, after all!
6. Is there anything stopping you from spending Christmas on an exotic beach?
7. In case your family objects to the exotic beach Christmas, play the pity card. They’ll understand if you don’t want to spend Christmas around all those happy families, you being single and all…
8. Haven’t you always wanted to have a totally untraditional Christmas? This is your chance to invite all your single friends, order sushi and have a DVD-a-thon while others sing Silent Night.
9. In the nights around Christmas, nightclubs are full of people enjoying their Christmas as singles – perfect for celebrating and flirting!
10. If you’re single at Christmas, doesn’t mean you’ll still be single come New Year’s eve…

So enjoy your Christmas as single! and if you prefer to start the new year with a new partner, you still have two weeks to find someone to ring in the new year with at be2!
